Jonette graduated with a BA Fine Art degree at the University of the Free State in 2014, and is currently working as a freelance artist in Bloemfontein.

The completion of her degree she experienced as an adventure as she jumped from one medium to another, not wanting to miss any opportunity to learn.  She settled on a combination of printmaking and drawing as well as repeatedly perforating holes into the paper's surface - working not only on the front, but also on the reverse side to create a multi-layered effect.

Objects are things everyone can relate to and often convey meanings of personal taste or sentiment and identity. In her work she explores the significance of everyday objects that are taken for granted and consider how objects have personal, cultural, ritualistic, sentimental and commemorative value in our lives. These type of objects go through a slow change that is not always noticed, which can show the progress of mankind., or reveal the hidden beauty of the world.
